Families awaiting transplant are faced with monumental life decisions. Many of which significantly impact a family’s financial stability to care and provide for the child awaiting transplant.
The Zoelle Leaire Foundation in support of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hospitals provides access to available funds for families who are in immediate need.
Available funds are distributed directly from the hospitals to the families who meet the eligibility criteria.
The Zoelle Leaire Foundation is developing a process where families will be able to apply directly to the Foundation for assistance.

Funding Eligibility Criteria
- Children from birth to 18 years of age
- Diagnosis of short bowel syndrome
- Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) Dependency
- Active listing for intestines or multivisceral transplant
